GWhat a friend we have in CJesus,
GAll our sins and griefs to Dbear!
GWhat a privilege to Ccarry
GEveryDthing to God in Gprayer
aOh, what peace we often foGrfeit,
COh, what Gneedless pain we Dbear
Gall because we do not Ccarry
GeveryDthing to God in praGyer.
GHave we trials and tempCtations?
GIs there trouble anyDwhere?
GWe should never be discCouraged,
GTake it Dto the Lord in Gprayer.
aCan we find a friend so Gfaithful?
CWho will Gall our sorrows Dshare?
GJesus knows our every weaCkness,
GTake it Dto the Lord in praGyer.
GAre we weak and heavy Claden,
GCumbered with a load of Dcare?
GPrecious Savior, still our Crefuge
GTake it Dto the Lord in Gprayer.
aDo thy friends despise forsGake thee?
CTake it Gto the Lord in Dprayer.
GIn His arms Heʼll take and shCield thee,
GThou wilt Dfind a solace Gthere.
GBlessed Savior, Thou hast Cpromised
GThou wilt all our burdens Dbear;
GMay we ever, Lord, be Cbringing
GAll to Dthee in earnest Gprayer.
aSoon in glory bright, uncGlouded,
CThere will Gbe no need for Dprayer
GRapture, praise, and endless Cworship
GWill be Dour sweet portion Gthere.
